Transitions
Our Transition Process
Pupils are referred to the Forest Edge School by local authorities and may be admitted at times other than the start of a school year.
Once a placement has been confirmed at Forest Edge School we begin our transition process.
Every Childs transition looks different and is bespoke but we adhere to some key stages in the process.
- Meet and Greet – the child and parents/carers
- Key information & permissions gathered/shared between home/school
- Discuss any key impacts on transition – anxiety, transport, prior attendance
- Plan the first two weeks transition plan – attendance, lessons, times
- Daily handover of students attendance/engagement
- Weekly review of transition plan – plan set for following week.
