GCSE Spanish

We follow the AQA syllabus and aim to enable students of all abilities to develop their Spanish language skills to their full potential, equipping them with the knowledge to communicate in a variety of contexts with confidence.

In years 10 and 11, students study all of the following themes on which the assessments are based: (see KS3 for greater detail)

  • Theme 1: Identity and culture
  • Theme 2: Local, national, international and global areas of interest
  • Theme 3: Current and future study and employment.

Assessment:

Students are prepared for assessment in all four skill areas (Listening, Speaking, Reading and Writing) and each carries 25% of the marks available at GCSE.

All are assessed via external examination at the end of yr 11.

We continue to use ¡VIVA! at KS4 for both FCSE and GCSE and supplement and adapt materials to meet the needs of individuals and groups.
